The Lifeline Meal Packing event is one of the most important global missions events at Plainfield Christian Church. Everyone is invited to pack meals that will be used by Lifeline Christian Mission to help people around the world.
This event is a great opportunity to help those in need without traveling overseas for a mission trip. Children as young as six can serve, so this can also be a serving experience for the family.
The meal packing event will take place on Saturday, September 7 and will be divided into 4 sessions, each just under 2 hours – at 8:45am, 10:45am, 12:45pm, and 2:45pm. Participants will choose one of the sessions during registration. Childcare for children under the age of six will be offered during the 8:45 session.
This event is open to everyone, not just our church family. This is a great opportunity to invite friends to church. We encourage you to invite your friends!

In past years, a registration fee was charged to help cover supplies for the event. This year, the event will be totally free. We're excited about this opportunity and want everyone to have a chance to participate. In place of charging for the event, we'll be taking donations to help cover the cost of the event and meal supplies. The actual cost of the event is around $50 per person, so any donation will help! Lifeline Meal Packing FAQ's
We really believe in this event, so we are making it free of charge. We do not want there to be any barriers to people serving at the event. However, the actual cost of this event is over $50 per participant. Donations will go a long way in helping us cover the cost of this event.
Dress is casual, but we ask everyone to wear close-toed shoes. Hairnets and gloves will also be provided for each participant.
Childcare is available during the 8:45am session. Please make sure to register for childcare on your registration form!
The meals contain soy.
Yes! Most positions do not require lifting anything larger than a scoop of food.
Yes! Please just let us know if you need to sit on your registration form.
You can call the church office at 317-839-2384 and someone will help you register.
Registration allows us to make sure that there are enough spots for everyone to serve during each of the shifts.
The event will take place at Plainfield Christian Church.
Please enter into Door 1 under the big, white pillars on the front side of the building. A short training will be held in the Worship Center and then the meals will be packed in the Fellowship Center.
Each participant will be assigned to a table with approximately ten other people. The people at each table will work together to fill bags with rice, soy, vitamins, and vegetables before they are weighed, sealed and boxed.
This event is open to everyone whether or not they attend Plainfield Christian Church. Anyone age six and up can serve at the event, making it a great way for families and groups to serve together.
We are packing meals that will be shipped all over the world by Lifeline Christian Mission. These simple meals are made of rice, dried vegetables, and a few other ingredients. We will have stations of groups of people that will work as a team to pack each meal from beginning to end.
Jesus called all of us to make a difference around the world. This event is a very practical way for all of us to literally get our hands dirty and help hurting people in another country.
