Abraham: Compelled by God’s Promise
“For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ.” – 2 Corinthians 1:20
Abraham’s faith in God’s promise changed the trajectory of his life. In the same way, we can choose to build our lives on the promises of God. This summer, choose one promise from Scripture and read it every day. As you commit this promise to memory, choose to live like it’s actually true-like Abraham did. As you let this promise shape your decisions, we’d love to hear the story of where God leads you and how one promise can change your life!
Here's a short list of promises in the Bible you could choose from:
Matthew 6:33
“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
James 1:5
“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.”
James 4:7-8
“Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you.”
Philippians 1:6
“...he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
Matthew 11:28-29
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”
Isaiah 41:10
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
1 John 1:9
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”
Matthew 7:7-8
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.”
Proverbs 3:5-6
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
Philippians 4:6-7
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

WHAT IS REALM?
Plainfield Christian utilizes a powerful church record-keeping software called Realm. Realm makes it easier for our church family to connect with each other, keep up with what’s going on, and grow as a connected community of believers. It also meets the administrative needs of our staff and makes sure that in a big church, no one slips through the cracks.
USING REALM
The easiest way to access Realm is to download Realm’s app, Connect. Use the app to communicate with your groups, check in and register for events, and manage your giving. A browser option is also available. Everyone connected with Plainfield Christian Church has a unique profile. By keeping your profile information current, you’re helping our staff and church community stay connected.
Privacy is a priority to us, and you have complete control over your information. We use a “closed” system in Realm, which means individuals must be invited to join our Realm database. This also means contact information is not searchable on the internet. You determine how much you want to make this part of your experience with our church, but we encourage you to participate and stay connected!
