Lifeline Meal Packing
Lifeline Meal Packing is one of the biggest opportunities all year to make a global impact right here at Plainfield Christian. Join us as we pack thousands of meals that will be distributed through Lifeline Christian Mission to children and families facing hunger around the world.
This is a hands-on experience for all ages! Children ages six and up can participate, making it a meaningful way for families, friends, and small groups to serve together.
The event is completely free to attend. Instead of charging a registration fee, you’re invited to give toward the cost of the event and meal supplies. The actual cost is about $50 per participant, so every donation helps provide meals and make this mission possible.
The best part? This event is open to everyone, not just our church family. Invite your friends, neighbors, and coworkers to join you as live on mission and make a difference around the world.
Session Times:
Friday September 11 @ 5:45pm
Saturday September 12 @ 8:45am, 10:45am, 12:45pm
*Childcare offered for kids 5 and under during 8:45am session
Event FAQs
Why are we doing this event?
Jesus called all of us to make a difference around the world. This event is a very practical way for all of us to literally get our hands dirty and help hurting people in another country.
What are we doing at this event?
We are packing meals that will be shipped all over the world by Lifeline Christian Mission. These simple meals are made of rice, dried vegetables, and a few other ingredients. We will have stations of groups of people that will work as a team to pack each meal from beginning to end.
Who is this event for?
This event is open to everyone whether or not they attend Plainfield Christian Church. Anyone age six and up can serve at the event, making it a great way for families and groups to serve together.
How will the meals be packed?
Each participant will be assigned to a table with approximately ten other people. The people at each table will work together to fill bags with rice, soy, vitamins, and vegetables before they are weighed, sealed and boxed.
Where will the event be held?
The event will take place at Plainfield Christian Church. Please enter into Door 1 under the big, white pillars on the front side of the building. A short training will be held in the Worship Center and then the meals will be packed in the Fellowship Center.
Why do I need to register for the event?
Registration allows us to make sure that there are enough spots for everyone to serve during each of the shifts.
What if I am unable to register online?
You can call the church office at 317-839-2384 and someone will help you register.
Can I participate if I need to sit?
Yes! Please just let us know if you need to sit on your registration form.
Can I participate if I am unable to lift heavy items?
Yes! Most positions do not require lifting anything larger than a scoop of food.
Are any allergens present in the food packages?
The meals contain soy.
Is childcare available?
Childcare is available during the 8:45am session. Please make sure to register for childcare on your registration form!
What should I wear to the event?
Dress is casual, but we ask everyone to wear close-toed shoes. Hairnets and gloves will also be provided for each participant.
Why are you asking for donations for the event?
We really believe in this event, so we are making it free of charge. We do not want there to be any barriers to people serving at the event. However, the actual cost of this event is over $50 per participant. Donations will go a long way in helping us cover the cost of this event.
Who do I contact if I have any questions?
Please contact if you have any questions.
